City of Unley Goodwood Oval Grandstand

Goodwood, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Goodwood Oval is a community sporting ground in Unley, and serves as the home of local cricket and football clubs, as well as a valued green space for the surrounding community. The grandstand redevelopment delivers modern spectator, changeroom and amenity facilities to support community sport at the oval, replacing ageing infrastructure with a contemporary, well-serviced building.

The project included mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services that all need to be documented accurately at handover to enable the City of Unley to operate and maintain the facility efficiently. To support the handover, Dewick & Associates was engaged to produce the Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic Services O&M Manuals and the Electrical and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings on behalf of the services contractors  E-Control Solutions, SKS Technologies and Systematic Plumbing.

Project Value

The services installations were completed by E-Control Solutions (electrical), SKS Technologies (mechanical) and Systematic Plumbing (hydraulic). As the owner and long-term operator of the asset, the council requires clear, accurate handover documentation to support maintenance, asset management and compliance obligations.

The project team engaged Dewick & Associates to produce Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic Services O&M Manuals together with Electrical and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings as a coordinated documentation package.

Developing documentation across three building services disciplines required the collection, review and coordination of information from multiple contractors while maintaining a consistent structure throughout the handover package. The O&M Manuals needed to provide clear operational and maintenance guidance for the grandstand services, while the Electrical and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings had to accurately record the completed installations. The documentation also needed to clearly define the project scope and support the council’s ongoing obligations under applicable building, workplace safety and asset management requirements for public community facilities.

Dewick & Associates’ in-house  technical authors prepared Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic Services O&M Manuals containing system descriptions, equipment schedules, manufacturers’ technical data, operating procedures and preventative maintenance schedules. Electrical and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings were produced to accurately reflect the completed installations and align with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements. The documentation was delivered as a coordinated package with a consistent structure, providing the City of Unley with a practical and easy-to-navigate handover resource.

The project delivered a coordinated three-discipline O&M documentation suite and Electrical and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings that provided the City of Unley with a reliable record of the Goodwood Oval Grandstand building services. The documentation supports efficient operation, maintenance planning and future asset management activities while helping the council maintain compliance and operational continuity across a valued community sporting facility.
