Multiple locations, Australia
ALDI has grown rapidly across Australia since entering the market, expanding its store network from New South Wales to Western Australia and bringing its distinctive value-focused retail model to communities nationwide. Dewick & Associates has provided Mechanical and Hydraulic O&M Manuals and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings for a number of ALDI stores delivered over recent years, including stores in Mildura (Victoria), the Port Canal Shopping Centre (South Australia), Hawthorne (Queensland) and Kadina (South Australia).
Our focus was on meeting ALDI’s tight store construction programmes, which leave little room for delay in the handover documentation, while maintaining the consistent quality standard our clients rely on across every store fitout.

ALDI’s national store rollout programme operates to short, tightly managed construction timeframes, with each new store needing to open to a consistent fit and finish regardless of location. Across stores including Mildura, the Port Canal Shopping Centre, Hawthorne and Kadina, Dewick & Associates has been engaged early in each programme to ensure the Mechanical and Hydraulic O&M Manuals and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings are produced within the available window, working closely with each store’s project team to meet ALDI’s deadlines without compromising on documentation quality.
The central challenge across ALDI’s store fitout projects is programme compression, each store’s construction schedule is short, and the O&M documentation needs to be ready in step with practical completion rather than trailing behind it.
The work spans multiple states and project teams, therefore Dewick & Associates needed a consistent approach to the Mechanical and Hydraulic O&M Manual format and the Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings, so that ALDI’s facilities management function receives the same standard of documentation whether the store is in regional Victoria, suburban Adelaide, Brisbane or the Yorke Peninsula.
Dewick & Associates’ technical authors produced comprehensive Mechanical and Hydraulic O&M Manuals together with Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings for each ALDI store across Australia. Working within ALDI’s fast-paced national store rollout program, our team developed project-specific documentation that accurately reflected the installed mechanical and hydraulic systems at each location.
Each manual included detailed system descriptions, operating procedures, equipment schedules, manufacturers’ technical literature, warranty information, commissioning documentation and structured preventative maintenance schedules, providing facility managers and maintenance contractors with the information required to operate, maintain and manage the building services throughout the asset lifecycle. Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings were prepared to accurately record the completed installation, supporting future maintenance, refurbishment and fault-finding activities.
By coordinating documentation directly with the project team and suppliers, Dewick & Associates ensured every deliverable was technically accurate, consistently formatted and completed within ALDI’s compressed construction and handover timeframes. This streamlined the handover process, reduced the administrative burden on contractors and provided ALDI with a consistent documentation standard across its expanding Australian store network.
The project resulted in a consistent suite of Mechanical and Hydraulic O&M Manuals and Hydraulic As-Installed Drawings across multiple ALDI stores nationally, giving ALDI’s facilities management function a reliable documentation standard regardless of location.
