Tennant Creek, Northern Territory, Australia
Tennant Creek is a remote town in the Barkly region of the Northern Territory, serving as a key service centre for the surrounding pastoral and Aboriginal communities. The new Pre-School and Family Centre, built on the existing Primary School site, delivers an Early Childhood Integrated Learning Centre supporting young children and families in one of Australia’s more remote regions. Dewick & Associates provided the Electrical Services O&M Manual and As-Installed Drawings for the new installation, comprising a new main switchboard, distribution boards, power and accessories, lighting and emergency lighting, working with NT Power and Data.
Our focus was on producing an Electrical O&M Manual and As-Installed Drawings that the school’s facilities team could rely on with confidence, recognising that specialist electrical support is not always close at hand in a remote NT community like Tennant Creek.

NT Power and Data delivered the electrical installation for the new Pre-School and Family Centre at Tennant Creek, comprising a new main switchboard, distribution boards, power and accessories, lighting and emergency lighting. Built on the site of the existing Primary School, the Early Childhood Integrated Learning Centre extends early childhood education and family services to one of the Northern Territory’s more remote communities, where reliable building documentation matters more than usual given the distance to specialist electrical contractors. NT Power and Data engaged Dewick & Associates to produce the Electrical O&M Manual and As-Installed Drawings for the new installation.
Electrical documentation for a remote NT education facility carries extra weight: when specialist contractors are hundreds of kilometres away, the school’s facilities team needs an As-Installed record and O&M Manual accurate enough to support fault-finding and minor works without always calling in outside help. The new main switchboard, distribution boards, power, lighting and emergency lighting installation needed to be recorded clearly enough that future maintenance staff, who may not have been involved in the original installation, can work from the documentation with confidence.
Dewick & Associates’ technical authors produced the Electrical Services O&M Manual and As-Installed Drawings for the Tennant Creek Early Childhood Integrated Learning Centre, covering the new main switchboard, distribution boards, power and accessories, lighting and emergency lighting, with preventative maintenance schedules suited to a remote NT facilities team.
The project resulted in an Electrical O&M Manual and As-Installed Drawings that give the Tennant Creek Early Childhood Integrated Learning Centre’s facilities team a clear, reliable electrical reference, supporting safe and confident maintenance in a remote part of the Northern Territory.
