The New Women’s and Children’s Hospital (nWCH) is one of South Australia’s largest healthcare infrastructure projects, delivering a new world-class hospital that will provide specialist care for women, babies, children and families for generations to come. During construction, a fully operational construction compound was established to support the large workforce, incorporating temporary site offices, worker amenities, storage facilities, safety infrastructure and associated building services.
DLG SHAPE was appointed as the principal contractor for the construction compound, with Sturdie delivering the Electrical Services package and Remote Air Services responsible for the Mechanical Services installation. Dewick & Associates to produce Mechanical and Electrical O&M Manuals, ensuring the temporary facilities were supported by accurate, compliant and professionally structured documentation.
The project required detailed technical authoring to capture the operation, maintenance and asset information for the compound’s essential building services. By providing comprehensive documentation at handover, Dewick & Associates helped ensure the temporary infrastructure could be safely operated, maintained and adapted throughout the construction programmer.
Although temporary in nature, the construction compound operates as a critical facility supporting hundreds of workers every day.
